The Juvenile Justice Coordinating Council (JJCC) is convened for the purpose of creating and revising the County’s Comprehensive Multi-Agency Juvenile Justice Plan, and providing guidance for the Juvenile Justice Realignment Subcommittee (JJRS).

Duties
The roles and responsibilities for the Juvenile Justice Coordinating Council include the following: Develop and update the Comprehensive Multi-agency Juvenile Justice Plan describing the Sonoma County community’s vision and action plan for improving the juvenile justice continuum in Sonoma County, as described in California Welfare and Institutions Code (WIC) 749.22; provide the leadership to the Juvenile Justice Realignment Subcommittee as described in WIC 1995; and provide input on Sonoma County’s Juvenile Justice Crime Prevention Act-Youthful Offender Block Grant Annual Plan described in California Government Code 30061(b)(4).

Membership Composition
The JJCC consists of: The Chief Probation Officer or their designee, as chair; one representative each from the District Attorney's Office, the Public Defender's Office, the Sheriff's Office, the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors or their designee, the Sonoma County Human Services Department, the Sonoma County Department of Health Services' Behavioral Health Division, a city police department, the Sonoma County Office of Education or a school district, and Judge representing the Juvenile Division of the Sonoma County Superior Court. The JJCC also includes an at-large community representative and nine (9) community-based organizations that include a drug and alcohol program that serves youth.

Meeting Schedule
The Juvenile Justice Coordinating Council meets quarterly in January, April, July, and October.
