Duties
Pursuant to the Public Utilities Code sections 21670-21679.5, the Commission has the following powers and duties: Assist local agencies in ensuring compatible land uses in the vicinity of airports. Provide for the orderly development of air transportation while protecting the public health, safety and welfare. Prepare and adopt a comprehensive airport land use plan. Review the plans and actions of local agencies and airport operators.

Membership Composition
Seven (7) members two appointed by Board of Supervisors two appointed by City Selection Committee two appointed by managers of the public airports (one representing airports operated for the benefit of general public and one representing managers of public airports) one public member appointed by the first six.
